Terminal — meet the new visual identity
Task
Our task was to design a logo and marketing visuals for a new mall about to be built near the well-known 'Kyiv' Mall in Sumy. The challenge was to find a concept that would complement the existing infrastructure and attract visitors.
Brand Idea
We decided to play on the fact that the new building will be right next to the very well-known mall that is named as the capital of Ukraine. In a few kilometers from Kyiv there is a hotspot, a place where people feel ready to travel, explore new horizons, shop, and enjoy life. We already have our own «Kyiv». So, right next to it, we created 'Terminal' — a place that transports you to a world of experiences and shopping.
Logo Design
The typographic logo sets you up for a flight into fresh experiences. The «A», shaped like a paper plane, represents ease and the spirit of adventure. The «M» and «E» are designed as zigzag lines, echoing the journey of both the traveler and their luggage.
Brand Style
We chose a bright, fresh color palette that sparks a sense of adventure. Lime, black, and white are the core colors, amplifying the energy, while raspberry and blue add a touch of dynamism. The graphics highlight the mall's innovative and energetic character, featuring dynamic triangles and squares that form patterns or can be used as photo frames.
A special touch is the visual solution for the billboards, designed to resemble a plane ticket.
Outdoor Advertising
We created a detailed 3D visualization of the building based on the provided blueprints. It features the positioning of the «Terminal» sign, along with illuminated «directional» signs for tenant advertisements within the mall. Additionally, we designed the entrance area and advertising panels, ensuring they complement the overall concept seamlessly.
Interior Design
To help visitors navigate the 'Terminal', we created informational signage inspired by airport navigation systems. The infographics are straightforward, well-organized, and clear. The premises are lit by light fixtures crafted in the distinctive 'Terminal' shapes.
The interior compositions are cleverly designed to optimize the narrow space, serving navigation, decoration, and advertising purposes. The first one is a «ticket» with portholes that offer a bird's-eye view of Sumy. It's a photo spot that evokes our travel aspirations. The second composition is a wall with double-sided panels, where visitors can see either the phrase «Everyday a new adventure» or the cityscape.
We also designed the transitions between floors. Each and every detail, including shelves for aesthetically placing fire extinguishers and first aid kits, follows the brand style. Special attention was given to the restroom designs, including accessible toilets for people with disabilities. Every detail was carefully thought out to ensure comfort for every visitor.
